In order to keep the process optimised, it is paramount that you understand what they are and replace them. 

Take bed sealing cord. It is critical in maintaining vacuum. Vacuum, a precious commodity, holds your work so you can machine it! If it fails the panel moves and the panel is scrap. All that work is Lost!
